Privacy notice

This notice explains how the Wiveliscombe Civic and Historical Society handles personal information submitted through the enquiry form on this website.

Who we are

The Wiveliscombe Civic and Historical Society is a volunteer-run society based in Wiveliscombe, Somerset. For anything to do with this notice or the information we hold about you, contact our chair, Pauline Homeshaw, on 01984 624564 or at homeshaw@btopenworld.com.

Information we collect

When you use the enquiry form, we collect:

  • your name
  • your email address
  • the type of enquiry you select
  • your message
  • your confirmation that you consent to being contacted about the enquiry

Our hosting and form providers may also record technical information such as your IP address and browser details when you submit the form, for security and spam filtering.

How we use it

We use this information only to respond to your enquiry and to keep a record of our correspondence. We do not sell it, and we do not use it for marketing.

We rely on your consent, which you give by ticking the box before submitting the form.

Who processes it

This website is hosted by Cloudflare. Form submissions are delivered to us by Web3Forms, which emails us a copy and keeps its own copy briefly for spam filtering and as a backup. Both providers may process data outside the UK under their standard data protection terms.

We do not share your information with anyone else unless we are required to do so by law.

How long we keep it

Web3Forms deletes its stored copy of your submission after seven days. We keep the enquiry in our email for three months from the date we receive it, then delete it.

Cookies and analytics

This website does not use analytics or advertising cookies.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. You can also withdraw your consent to being contacted at any time.

To make a request, contact us using the details above. We will respond within one month. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
